We cordially invite you to meet with the Amateur Radio operators of your community and members of QAARC at White Marsh Park on June 23rd and 24th. The park is located at the intersection of Rt. 213 and White Marsh Road (old Bloomfield Farm). Entrance to the farm is located on Rt. 213 just south of the intersection of White Marsh Road. The event will be open to the public from 2:00 p.m. to sundown Saturday and sunrise to 2:00 p.m. Sunday.
Like most communities, Queen Anne’s County doesn’t expect a major emergency. But they happen, and losing communications quickly can turn an emergency into a real disaster.
We will be inviting the press and community leaders to drop by, and will have brochures, information packets and other materials made available through the ARRL, the national association for Amateur Radio, explaining our work. Advertising in the local news papers will occur the second week of June.
We look forward to your visiting this event. It should be fun and is also a validation to the hundreds of Amateur Radio volunteers who have spent thousands of hours providing emergency communications, public service work and other benefits throughout our community and region.
If you need more information or would like to operate one or more of our field day stations (HF, CW, QRP, PSK31, VHF, GOTA, etc.) please contact us by email or phone.
